Red Camp Information and Policies

PAYMENT SCHEDULE

50% due at time of booking.

Remaining balance due 7 days before arrival.

No security deposit is due.


CANCELLATION POLICY

All paid prepayments are non-refundable.


CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT

Check-in is at 4pm and check-out is at 11am.

Early check-in or late check-out is offered for an additional fee of $150 or $300 for both options, subject to availability.  Early check-in allows arrivals after 11am.   Late check-out allows departure before 4pm.

Please let us know in advance and we'll make the necessary arrangements for your stay.


PARKING

Parking for 4 cars is available next to the side yard.

Reach out if additional parking is needed or are planning to bring a drift boat or other equipment.

Red Camp does not take responsibility or accept liability for damage, accident or loss to your vehicle or personal property when you and your guests park at our property.


HOUSE POLICIES

  • No smoking inside.
  • The cabin is on septic. Please be mindful of what you put in our pipes.
  • Dogs are welcome. Please see pet policy below.
  • Please be respectful on the property and in the river.
  • No fireworks of any kind are permitted on the property.
  • No gasoline or other fuels may be used to start fires.
  • DO NOT CLIMB OR HARM TREES
  • No hunting of any kind is permitted.
  • We reserve the right to charge for any additional cleaning fees or damage fees should you or your pet damage any property at camp.

Although only 5 minutes from the Village of Hancock, Red Camp is nestled in the wilderness. To ensure the safety and preservation of the local wildlife and environment, we kindly ask guests to leave no trace, ensuring this special place remains a sanctuary for future guests.


PET POLICY

  • Red Camp is "friendly-pet friendly", for up to 2 dogs with a $200 non-refundable pet stay fee.
  • Please clean up after your dog. Bowls, doggie bags, and pet cleaning spray are provided under the kitchen sink. Dog towels and blankets are in the basket next to sofa and ask you use them if your pet goes on furniture.
  • We'd appreciate keeping your dog on a leash when in the driveway or around the houses and on the gravel road shared by our other neighbors. There is a fenced side yard and the field along the river where your dog can roam freely.

There porcupines, eagles, foxes, coyotes, and other wildlife, so please keep that in mind when your pet is enjoying their stay.

**We live in an area with ticks, we highly recommend that your dog is on flea/tick preventative care and you check them for ticks each time you return indoors.


    OUTDOOR GUIDANCE

    • River access from stairs on the side of the deck or the trail at the end of the driveway only.
    • Propane grill may be used for cooking.
    • Firepit may be used on the sandpit (see property map)
    • Chiminea in the side yard may be used with the wood in the fire ring.
    • Kindling available underneath the tree with downed limbs.


    RIVER RULES

    • Catch and Release fishing encouraged
    • NY/PA Fishing License Required
    • River is very cold and fast, wade with caution!
    • Our land is private, but the river is public.
    • Please notify hosts if anyone is using property during your stay.
    • Practice etiquette when fishing from property around other anglers.


    CHECK-OUT INSTRUCTIONS

    • Check out is at 11am.
    • Please clean dishes and leave them in the drying rack.
    • Leave beds as is.
    • Turn off all lights.
    • Close all windows and ensure blinds are open.
    • Put furniture back where you found it.
    • Ensure outdoor furniture and grill is covered.
    • Leave trash and recycling in bins. Metal trashcans outside are available for overflow.
    • Lock front door. This will automatically notify us you have checked out of your unit and notify our cleaning staff they can start cleaning.
